Cats receive unprecidented verbal

In a nearly unprecedented move, Arizona received a commitment from a 2016 quarterback prospect. For those who do not want to do the math, that means Arizona’s quarterback of the future just completed his freshman year in high school.

Several media outlets, including KGBT TV and KRGV TV in the Rio Grande Valley, have reported that Shea Patterson has commited to the Wildcats. Both television stations confirmed the commitment from Patterson’s high school coach Scott Ford. Friends of the family also posted pictures of Patterson and Rich Rodriguez posing together.

Patterson is a 6-1, 180-pound quarterback from Hildalgo (Texas) High School. He led the Pirates to a 7-4 record this past season and is also a starting point guard on the basketball team.

He and his family took an unofficial visit to Tucson over the past few days and committed before leaving.
