A deeper look at Arizona's RB's

Daniel Jenkins

Cats have a number of talented young runners who could thrive in the new offense.

    • We do have a deep stable. I think Ka'deem will hit his stride this year as a more mature player and one who can thrive in this offense. Jenkins and Baker can be good backups. It's great to have Nwoko back in the mix. He has always been banged up, and I'd love to see him get a good year.

Tutogi presents great opportunity. The former staff used him as a lead blocker, and he's good at it, but he is also a better athlete than many give him credit for. We need to design a few plays for him in short-yardage and as a receiver underneath and over the middle.

We also have room for Cormier! :)

    • I remember when Taimi got a lot of carries as a result of injuries in a game against WSU his frosh year. He showed in that one game that he had great vision and knew how to run the football. He's only gotten bigger and stronger since. I'm sure RR has visions of Owen Schmidt dancing in his head when he looks at Taimi.

    • So, by definition we are deep at the position... but all remain unproven. We've obviously seen flashes but we need that 1000-1200 yard back that other defenses have key on. Maybe it can be done by committee... anyway I hope the best for these guys and am excited to see them play.
