Arizona got out to an early lead thanks to a number of Washington State turnovers and hot three-point shooting from Solomon Hill. Hill went 6-8 from behind the arc in the first half, including a 3.4-court heave at the buzzer.
Hill’s second three of the game gave Arizona their first 10-point lead and the Cougars got it under that benchmark just once the rest of the way. Hill had 18 points, all in the first half.
Mark Lyons led the Wildcats 20 points in just 20 minutes of action, one of four Wildcats in double figures.
Nick Johnson had a rough night. Suffering from the flu, Sean Miller said he vomited several times during the game, Johnson scored just six points. Johnson did add five assists and zero steals.
