Cats add NM defensive end

Arizona’s recruiting run continues. Over the past two weeks the Wildcats have added commitments from six players, make that seven as defensive end Calvin Allen has pledged to the Wildcats.

“Committed to the University of Arizona today and I'm very excited,” Allen announced on Twitter.

Allen is a 6-4, 240 pounder from Albuquerque NM/La Cueva High School. He plays both defensive end and tight end in high school but should begin his high school career on the defensive side of the ball. Some analysts also feel he could wind up playing on the offensive line.

Allen’s commitment continues a run of commits. Since early last week the Wildcats have added seven verbal commitments. In the past 48 hours the Wildcats have added three defensive commitments. Linebackers Deandre Miller and Philip Wright committed to the Wildcats on Monday.

He chose the Wildcats over Iowa State, New Mexico, New Mexico State and San Diego State.
