Arizona has added to their already loaded 2012 recruiting class. The Cats add a JC player at a much-needed spot.
247Sports’ JC Shurburtt reported that he was hearing Georgia Military College linebacker Brandon Golson had committed to Arizona and the Arizona Daily Star reported the same.
Golson is a 6-2, 220 pounder who committed to South Carolina out of high school in 2010 but failed to qualify. He then enrolled at Louisville in January of 2011, but never played for the Cardinal due to a test score issue. Although he participated in spring football, he was later ruled a partial qualifier and the Big East does not accept partial qualifiers and he was forced to go the junior college route.
It was reported that Golson re-committed to South Carolina over the summer, but there seemed to be some communication issues between he and the Gamecock staff, as well as the fact that he maintained the entire time that he was going to take other visits. By August he was no longer considered a South Carolina commit.
Golson is considered by 247Sports as the No. 33 JUCO prospect in the nation and is a three-star prospect with an 89 ranking. He has a 247Composite score of 0.8670, also holding composite three-star ranking.
