Although turnovers were a problem, it was a nice win for Arizona. Arizona went on a 15-2 run over the final minutes to pull away from a decent UTEP team, that used a few 7-0 runs to keep themselves in the game.
Sean Miller seemed very pleased about the play of his defense, but was not as happy about the team's turnovers and tendency to foul the shooter. See the video in the message below for his thoughts.
The players were also mostly pleased. Before Miller addressed the media, Solomon Hill, Grant Jerrett and Kaleb Tarczewski spoke to the media. Hill, as usual was very informative, even if he mistakenly threw Jerrett "under the bus" by mistakenly saying he had a rough night.
Hill had his usual stat filing game, 10 points, six boards and four assists. He hit on 2-3 three pointers.
Jerrett started out strong, scoring six of Arizona's first eight points when he knocked down a pair of threes. He took just two more shots the rest of the game and finished with seven points and severn rebounds.
Tarczewski was a perfect 2-2 from the field and added 4-5 shooting from the line. He scored eight poitns and had six boards, three on the offensive end.
Mark Lyons, who was not presented to the media, scored a team-high 17 points, but also had a team-high two steals and four turnovers. Brandon Ashley led the team with ofur offensive rebounds.
