BONDURANT EARNS CFPA HONOR

TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona sophomore safety Tra’Mayne Bondurant has been named a College Football Performance Awards Honorable Mention Defensive Back of the Week, it was announced on Sunday.
In Saturday’s 49-0 loss at then-No. 3 Oregon, Bondurant paced Arizona’s defense with 10 tackles, including three for a loss of 15 yards and one pass broken up. He was part of a defensive unit that held the Ducks to just 13 points in the first half and UO’s De’Anthony Thomas to just 97 all-purpose yards for the game.
A native of Vallejo, Calif., Bondurant has 25 tackles, including 6.5 for a loss of 24 yards, and two passes broken up. He ranks No. 8 in the Pac-12 in tackles for loss per game.

Saturday’s game also marks the American Football Coaches’ Association’s (AFCA) fifth annual Coach to Cure MD effort. More than 100 FBS schools, including the Arizona and Oregon State coaching staffs, will be wearing Coach to Cure MD patches to raise awareness and funding for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research.
