  • There is a continuing theme running through the description of the kids in this recruiting class. So many have been characterized as "intelligent, good GPA, a great work-ethic, leadership skills, coachable, quick, and aggressive."

I'll take kids like this any day. These are the same kinds of guys who become Green Berets, SEALs, or Marines.

  • This is a statement get by RR. He went in to Duck and Beaver territory and snatched away this kid. I think those programs took this guy for granted.

I remember an under the radar guy that Rich Rod recruited to Michigan that some even mocked. His name was Denard Robinson.

There's definitely legitimate reasons for concern when evaluating Arizona's recruiting class based on star rankings. However, the question for Arizona fans to ask is do they and can they "trust" Rich Rod and his staff in what they're doing?

  • As risky as evaluating classes by stars is, in the history of AZ football, especially recent history, more stars has equated to better seasons 3-4 years down the road.

  • BP, that's true. It's just that we are still "borderline" as far as breaking into the stratosphere of 5 and 4-star recruits. We are very close- it takes time. Coach Rod knows what to do, and is accustomed to doing both- beating the bushes for under-radar guys, and going into a 5-star's house and dragging him home.

I have no worries about where we're going or how we're getting there. This staff has embraced the presence of a compliance-guy looking over their shoulder and they know that one screw-up and it's pretty much over, as Byrne has made clear.

The new system beckons fast, smart, and aggressive guys-- bring 'em in.

  • A potfull of our earlier commits were on campus today to get themselves enrolled so they could start participating in voluntary workouts.

It's still June. This is a very good sign.

The more we sweat in practice, the less we bleed in games. Bear Down.
