Cortez Johnson visitng OU

Over the next few days Cortez Johnson will be visiting Norman, and meeting with Tim and Mike. My guess is that he transfers to OU. Has to sit out a year, but the kid can play.

I have no problem with a guy following the coach(es) he wants to play for an I often admonish people here for bashing guys who transfer.... but our secondary was so porous last year that the fact he didn't play much makes me think he probably isn't that good. Maybe he's just too young but was he likely to be an impact player in the Pac-12?

I agree about kid's leaving to play for coaches that they originally committed to. You hate to lose a talent like Cortez, but if his head and heart aren't in Arizona football then it's always better to part ways.

Sorry, but all this good will makes me want to vomit. the kid left his teammates in the in the lurch, its like leaving a dead hooker in your friends car.

Hey, if this kid wants to leave and play for Mike Stoops, more power to him.
Hate to lose him, but if he isn't happy here then best wishes to him.

I thought he was good last year, but my question; is he Oklahoma good? I mean, we can't expect to recruit players capable of competing on the same level as OU, can we, what with no facilities and all? So how is it that OU would even want him?

Cortez never should have left. Things happen and he is gonna play for Stoops again. The new staff was, possibly, overly strong with Tez that helped him out the door but he is gone and finding a home in Norman. Hope he is the only one.

He committed to OU last night, along with Jalen Saunders fromt Fresno State (on some AA teams as a wide receiver). Two strong transfers for Mike and Tim that is for sure.
