  • Here's the link. Some good photos on NEZ & SEZ construction and an upbeat article.

  • Great article. We need a few more of these around the country.

  • Great, we need some damn good news, everything has been gloom and doom lately. Does anyone know why the entire field is torn up, this last year the grass was terrible is that being addressed. Also, with all the millions of dollars we are spending on the NEZ why not buy a tarp like baseball stadiums have to protect the grass form the rain storms.

  • The field isn't quite torn up.

What you see is construction on the south end zone as well to add about 500 seats for the handicapped needs that are displaced from the NEZ project. If you can go back to the story that WSR ran about a month ago, there was a quote from the ticket office that referenced that. So while there is machinery on the field, it is necessary in the short term.

The rest of the season ticket holders in the north end zone have been offered seats in the east side upper deck. There will be a completed shell his year, but no seating there because all the innards -- elevators, stairwells, etc. will not be completed.

There is an earthen berm in thie north end zone area as well, to accommodate the excavation work for the 100 foot deep cassions that were drilled as part of the foundation.

  • Don't worry too much about our grass. Our playing field is almost always rated in the top 5 natural grass playing fields in the country.
This year, an early drainage problem set the grass seeding cycle off, and the field never quite recovered. They're going to get after it again this year and next.
