  • I am afraid I could not disagree with you more on Horrible Bosses. One of the few movies I actually saw at the theater and HATED it. Honestly, I only laughed once and that was at Jennifer Anniston being innapropriate. I was actually angry that I paid to see it.

That being said, thanks for introducing me to Miss Sonders.

My guess is I would have had the same theatre reaction, which is why I stopped racing to the theatre for comedies (except Hangover I & II) and instead wait for Netflix or cable.

Why don't we call him the basketball formerly and currently known as censored.

Never like to see anyone take a cheap shot, but if it's going to happen then it should be to a Lil Forker.

You're the 17th person that picked up on that imagery...Yesterday I got seven text messages within 15 minutes and thought perhaps Miller was being named as a top coaching candidate again.

Gary - nice read! If you are looking for "a column founded on the principles of bitterness and hostility" you should have called me!!!

"Despite the hopeful wishes of many Wildcat fans, it’s difficult to imagine Arizona ever out-recruiting the USC’s, Texas’, and Alabama’s of the world. While I do think Rich Rod and his staff will recruit and land a higher-caliber athlete than Stoops was able to secure, I still don’t think Arizona will be racking up the 5-star athletes in future seasons."

Flashback to 1982/3 (whenever) perhaps someone wrote something similar:

Despite the hopeful wishes of many Wildcat fans, it’s difficult to imagine Arizona ever out-recruiting the Gerogretown's, UCLA's, and Kansas' of the world. While I do think Lute Olson and his staff will recruit and land a higher-caliber athlete than Snowden and Lindsey were able to secure, I still don’t think Arizona will be racking up the 5-star athletes in future seasons.

I get that the two sports are different, but you know Oregon was horrible for decades, UCLA used to be a power and things can and do change. If we don't believe and work toward an elite level program being built here, then we should just not even bother, IMO.

I agree with Brad on Horrible bosses, just not that good, and I think Bateman is great (see: Arrested Development). Although I said that initially that about Anchorman/Rob Burgundy but that movie IS a classic and literally gets better every time I've see it.

  • It is my opinion that if an Arizona QB were to be drafted in the Rodriguez era, that QB would not play the QB position in the NFL.

Quite the limb you're going out on there Nogie.... ;/

    Tate

  • It may have broken some kind of man code or a private confidence, but it was part of his time with Woods.

Its kind of hard to separate the personal behavior and performance, and in this case, many people feel that the only Karma that has boomaranged has been toward el Tigre because of his despicable behavior toward his wife.

    BlkMtn

  • OK Tate, here's a list of all the QB's under Rich Rod at WV and MI
    http://mgoblog.com/diaries/rich-rodriguez-quarterback-archetypes-and-success

White was a bust in the NFL.
Lewis I believe never had a cup of coffee in the NFL.
For a short time Marshall was a WR/kick returner in the NFL for the Rams and finished in the arena league as a WR.
Nick Sheridan who had 4 starts is a college coach at Western Kentucky.
Steven Threet tranferred to ASSWho and currently is an SA for the Skunks.

  • As an FYI, BlkMtn gave me the heads up on a Holly Sonders appearance today on the Golf Channel. She was outfitted in a mini skirt and a golf shirt size T-4 (toddler). It was beautiful.

Thanks for that info Wineknow. That's a trip about the similarity in commentary. In 1982/83 I was 10 years old so I can guarantee you that it wasn't be scribing that text.

Greg Byrne's Wildcat Wednesday supported one of my comments in this week's Friday Fizz about the artificial turf making Arizona Stadium the year-round practice facility that it should be. I wholeheartedly agree. Byrne also said Rich Rod likes the "consistency" of field turf, meaning fewer injuries (hopefully) and improved performance from the players (knowing every inch of the field and not having the "feel" for those inches changing from practice to practice and game to game because of conditions).

  • Almost all of the chicks on Golf Channel are hot including Win McMurray and Lauren Thompson, but Holly is definitely in a class by herself. Well done Gary. I like official Fizz girls.

    Wildkatze

  • Yeh them chicks are banging although Lauren Thompson being a former forker kind of kills it for me (if that's the same broad).

  • Someone listed only two NFL QB's from Arizona since 1960. Eddie Wilson and Bill Demory. Of course beforre that there was Fred Enke in the late forties, but since I believe Jim Krohn played briefly for the Philadelphia Eagles and I know Chuck Levy took two snaps at QB for the Cardinals on two point attempts. Other than that it has not been good for our QB's

  • however chuck levy never was a QB at Arizona, he was a running back. At least that is my recollection

True, never listed and pretty sure Levy never through a pass, but he did take a few snaps on two-point conversions and some goal line attempts.

  • BTW, in a previous Fizz from maybe February, here's an update on my golf club situation.

First, the technology available today at golf shops is ridiculous. After hitting every 3 and hybrid wood in the store and using the computers to help with launch angle, spin rate, carry, roll, etc. I caved and purchased the TP Shaft Rocketballz 3-wood with a 14.5 degree loft, as well as the TP shaft Rocketballz hybrid with a 21.5 degree loft (I carry a 2-iron when I want to hit a driving shot off the turf or tee so that's why the large disparity in degree angles for the woods).

I'm also about to purchase the TP shaft RS11 driver from Taylor Made. While I don't expect to make any adjustments to the club beyond a nuetral face angle and a 9.5 degree loft, I love the pop off that face, as well as the carry.

*Thanks for everyone's advice on the different clubs on the market. I'm incredibly happy right now.

Chuck played QB for one of the Oregon games and threw two incomplete passes in that game. We played option football and put up well over 300 yards on the ground. Chuck and Twan both had over 100 yards rushing and Billy Johnson had over 80. Have to look for the official stats.

seems like Taylor Made is slightly ahead in technology.
but i just love my new titleist cb irons and 3 wood.
good luck with the new toys

  • Levy played QB against Oregone on a cold evening.

Dan White was down, and so was everyone else.

This was the genius of Tomey. The whole offense was changed for a week and Levy ran the option, and although it was against OreGone who wasn't all that great in those years, quite frankly, it was a thing of beauty.

Tomey football at its best. Everyone knew all we could do was run the ball, but they couldn't really stop Arizona.

Had Chuck Levy stayed for his senior year, he could have been a serious Heisman candidate. Seriously.
