  • Impressive, he is top 2 in almost every category except rebounding and blocks. Still though, 6 boards for a shooting guard? Cant wait til he is in a CAT uniform!

Time to nut up or shut up

  • Unbelievable stats for a player on a team that is nO 1 in the nation has lots stars. I do not understand why he is not in the top 10 players in the nation but believe he may be soon.

I can almost guarantee that by the end of the year we will have 2 of the top 10-15 players in the country. And you throw in Johnson hopefully moving up to top 50 status gives us a great class. NJ is the best player on the best team in the country. He will definitely move up during this year. The reason he is starting so low is b/c he was on a loaded team last year so the recruiting services just didn't see enough of him compared to his teammates and others around the country. He was more of a complimentary player last year but this year he is 'the man' and he will be recognized as such. Seeing some of his highlights makes me think he has NBA skilz RIGHT NOW. I think he is going to make a big splash for us next year with his game. He has a smooth jumper and hops out of the gym. Wow, this year is exciting already I can't imagine how pumped we're all going to be next year!!! NC baby!!! I don't mind getting carried away with those thoughts megaphone

  • dang...just adding up the scores for the starting 5...is almost 96 points a game for a shortened high school game...I wonder if that high school team would beat several college teams...that is impressive...

  • Would really like to see that Williams-Goss and Lucas in 'Cat unis. Javier, Gary, etc., care to do a little handicapping for us?

First, as W-G, the versatile guard, is only, what, a HS sophomore, who do you project to be in the backcourt at UA by the time he's eligible, in '13-'14, I believe? And so what are the chances of the kid inking a schollie with Coach Miller's group? Is he our primary target at combo-guard for that class?

And now for Lucas. The F-C is a Jr., if I'm not mistaken, so he's in the class of '12-'13. Who's already here at that time? And what kind of priority is Coach Miller putting on his recruitment? Our chances at landing the next great Oregonian big man?

One man's prediction for the class of '11-'12:

--Horne to NBA...schollie to S. Johnson

--Wise from walk-on with schollie to walk-on helping us to secure N. Johnson...with schollie

--Jacobson first ever walk-on player-grad. assistant coach...making it possible for us to welcome Josiah...with schollie

--Williams goes NY on us, taking his cap and jersey from Stern and feeling like he won the, well, lottery...and so does Chol...Angelo Chol...the newly minted 'Cat combo-big man in Coach Miller's system

    Life is grand, isn't it?

    Thanks guys.

Now I'll take your comments off the air...

  • Wise is using our 13th scholarship so when he gives up his next year it does not free one up for asnother player as the sanctions reduce us to 12 scholarships. Wise has been given a scholarship these last two years because we only uused 12 next year we will only have 12 to use. With the 3 signees coming in addition to Horne graduating and Wise losing his scholarship two other people have to no longer be on scholarship. AJ can graduate and transfer for one but someone else has to leave or give up their scholarship for the third spot not to mention a possible fourth recruit in Chol.

My guess is Horne graduates, AJ graduates and transfers and DWIILL goes pro and we do not take Chol.

  • If DWill chose to come back (and that is obviously my preference hoops), and no one wanted to transfer, then the only other possibility would be for DB or BLav to give up their schollie, and pay in-state tuition.

I wonder if either one of them is capable of doing that?

BLav is the more likely one to be asked to do that, in the eventuality that DWill does choose to come back, as he is a young man that Sean inherited. Sean chose to give a schollie to DB, and it would be unethical, in my opinion, to ask DB to give up his. But, BLav may be willing to give up his, if his family is in a position to help out.

I don't wish that on BLav, but I really, really, really WANT DWill to come back next year hoops
