RichRod was not pleased with the first practice in pads. Due to illness I was not able to make it but Anthony Gimino was there and said the Rod was so upset after practice that he banned player interviews and instead re-addressed the media.
“The first day in pads you’d think you’d be excited,” Rodriguez said.
“(I don’t know) if it was a spring break kind of hangover. … We’ll get it fixed. It starts with the coaching staff having things ready to have the type of practice I think a championship team has to have.”

I am reading a lot into your comments Brad, but I think this confirms that Rich Rod plans on having rather physical practices compared to what Stoops was doing the past couple of years. Sounds to me like the players didn't think they were supposed to make an impact when they were hitting. Again, I haven't even read Anthony's report yet.........but it would confirm a couple of thoughts we have spoken about around here about lack of physical play.
