  • This list shows me that the next couple of classes are pretty weak on the west coast especially. Once you get past the top 2 names at least. It will be interesting to see what we end up doing with Eric Cooper but I guess that will depend on his physical progression. From what I've seen, he's still a long way from being a high major contributor.

  • I agree about Eric Cooper Jr. What I've been able to gather about him is that he's still not at that elite level after recovering from injuries a couple of years back. But the staff and the recruiting analysts are going to be able to get a better perspective on where he's at and where he projects to after this summer's AAU tournemnts. At that point, I bet he either becomes a hot commodity and gets a bunch of offers from other schools or he decommits from UofA and starts looking for lower tier schools to sign with. Personally, I hope he absolutely blows up this summer and we end up with another top recruit that everyone wants, but is firmly committed to being at UofA.

  • The west coast has plenty of talent. The Hamilton brothers are two of the best in the nation for their classes (2013, 2014), Stanley Johnson III (2014) could easily grow into a top 5 ranking (probably will), Ikenna's legit, Domingo and tons of others. As I said, this story is just the tip of the iceberg as we start digging into the spring and summer evals.

To me, the upper east coast looks to have a lot of strong talent as well, particularly in the Jersey, NYC and Philly markets.

And don't forget Bird and Gordon...the west coast is loaded with talent in the next few classes.

Yes, the list goes on. I know Brad Allis is working on a Best of the West national article, which ranks the top 15 or 20 west coast prospects in 2013.

  • BTW the Cats were out to see Johnson a few days ago.

  • Don't forget about 2015 super talents Marcus LoVett and Aaron Holiday(Jrue's little brother).....both players put up over 50 pts as true freshman this past season. The West Coast is loaded with talent in 2013 and 2014, as well.

  • Zimmerman at Bishop Gorman is also another talented 2015 player. He's a big man who has already visited unofficially.

  • The list goes on. One guy I'm interested to see in the coming weeks (next week actually) is Devin Burleson (2014), a 6-8 forward from St. John Bosco who plays with the Hamilton Brothers.
