Softball is awomens psort and would not count. A top 8 in either football or basketball likely owuld have put us in first or a top 8 in Men's tennis or another sport for men. We picked up 60 points in baseball of our 92 and Florida had 104. We were also given points in Mens swimming and Diving, Outdoor Track and field and Golf. We were third in one, fourth in another and seventh in the last.

Itisinteresting to note that officiallytheArizona AD site and the PAC 12 site do not even acknowledge the Capitla One Directors cupbutinstead focus on the traditional one which is theLearfield Sports Directors Cupin which Stanford won forthe18th straight year and Arizona finished 19. The 19th place is an immprovement from the last few years. the baseball win moved us from 25th to19th which really helped. I agree the Learfield is the more prestigious award.
Jim PS why does ESPN have to have their own duplicate awards on everything?

Had Moline not fallen in the 400 Hurdles and Sambu and LAlang done what there were capable of doing their races...the T & F would have finished higher in the standings. So we might have been number one....but I really don't know how this point system works.
But just to be aheah of ALL the Pac teams is awesome. Especially Trees and that team from up north
