Seems like some juicy speculation. I wonder if there is any truth to it?
this is from ESPN
UPDATE: It's looking more and more like Ben Howland could be on his way out at UCLA at the end of the season. On Monday morning, Tracy Pierson of Bru
so is this
Right now, Josh Pastner's attention is squarely on the NCAA tournament. The 35-year-old is coming off a season where he led Memphis to a 30-4 record a
Here's a question, would UCLA consider offering Josh the job? And would Josh consider it if offered? That would be pretty damn scary. I don't think it will happen, but I just made myself wince a bit.
It's not a secret that Howland has been getting more and more surly as his tenure lengthens. Check this transcript:
USC.....because of their athletic department and its boosters....it's a rough situation for any coach.
I love reading stuff from Javier Morales. I think he's one of the best bloggers/writers coving the Cats today. But I disagree with him on this one. I think Josh Pastner would be wildly successful at USC. I hope he doesn't accept the SC job. But with the tenacious and relentless approach he takes to recruiting (and coaching in general), I know he'd be successful in LA. Also... It'll grab all the media attention when he leaves SC for UofA some day!
Bear Down Arizona
Here's my wild prediction: Jamie Dixon to USC, Ben Howland to Pitt, Lorenzo Romar to UCLA, and Josh Pastner to Washington. All four would prove tremendously successful with Pastner owning the Pacific Northwest in recruiting.

Yeah...how could we criticize and hate JOSH if he went to ucla? USC..no way..that is where dead coaches get deader..... UCLA would be VELLYYYY INTAHWESTINGGGG

Wow. It would not surprize me
why would Dixon want to go to USC? He is at Pitt and successful there. He could wait for Syracuse, etc. I also don't think UCLA would hire Romar even though he worked there before (inter-league hire and better options) but the Pastner to anywhere in the PAC 12 would be scary and good for the league.
However....... money talks!

Dixonand i think his wife are from LA and that is where his parents still live. His parents are getting old so i would think that he might jump at the chance to be closer to them.
Sorry to jump in and answer the question
The fun thing will be if Dixon does go to SC, like i have also heard from others might happen, is Miller to Pitt rumors and talk for awhile. And if we happen to lose to New Mexico we will have to listen to a certain DIPSHIT talk about football and basketball lossing to the lobos. So maybe Miller should just leave while he can since he can not coach and we should go after one of the other top 20 coaches in the country or maybe just bring Lute back since he never did any harm at all.
I have heard the rumor about Dixon to USC for a few months. And Howland going back to PITT.
UCLA is going after Pitino and Billy Donovan with both barrels. They are insistent about getting a Coach with Final Four/National Championships under his belt. They want to be relevant and most of all SEXY! Oh, and get away from the bad press of kids like Reeves Nelson and all the Mickey D transfers that have plagued them for the last few years.
Bigger issue, They have no point guard next year unless Kyle Anderson stays which is probably not going to happen. The worst thing that can happen at UCLA is for them to go to the Elite 8 or better and then they have to keep Howland. Unless a coach of the caliber of Pitino or Donavon wants to suffer for 2+ years where your best player is David/Travis Wear and have to hear all the UCLA supporter rhetoric about how many banners are up in those new/old/new rafters, ( they are still dusty by the way) they will have to be paid a salary higher than Calapari to come and even that might not lure them to the hills of Westwood.
I do see Brad Stevens from Butler eventually winding up there. He's young. He's clean. He's approachable and a damn good coach. I hope he holds out for a huge contract with all the trimmings.
Romar is not going anywhere. Pastner should stay far away from USC. Rumor is Tim Floyd has been contacted by Pat Haden about his interest in coming back to SC. If Dixon falls through, see Timmy going back to SC.
Thanks, i did not know that!
I heard Calipari's wife was checking out schools in LA and my brothers ex wife has a cousin who knows a guy that is friends with a realtor who showed them around some great properties in Beverly Hills....

Losing to New Mexico, in any sport, should at least put a coach on the hot seat, if not get him fired. You heard it from this 'dipshit' first.
Sure, losing to New Mexico with a 29-5 record and the second best RPI in the country (behind only Duke) would warrant a coach being fired.
