Arizona - Saturday in Los Angeles
Ohio State - Saturday in Columbus
Ohio St 61
BEAR DOWN boys... The best is yet to come....
I'll go with a nail biter - Arizona 71-OSU 69 - Lyons for a layup at the buzzer.
Of course I'm going to say Arizona wins. Should be a good one! 73-68
Time to nut up or shut up
Arizona 71 OSU 66 --- I'm such a homer though. I'm heading down from Portland so they better win!
Anyone else going to be at the game?
rdot said it best:
Arizona - Saturday in Los Angeles
Ohio State - Saturday in Columbus
If it were possible to win by 1/2 a point, I'd say we'd beat them by 1/2 a point. Gonna be a great game.
Wildcat_Brad - we were in portland last week looking at schools for my daughter. In discussing Atlanta with my wife she said that if I get to go to Atlanta for the Final Four, she gets to go back to Portland for Powell's and dinner at DOC. I agreed because I will be with her, that meal at DOC was astonishing!

Some of your predictions are laughable at best...especially the ones predicting a blowout
Now that is funny....
I just don't think Arizona finds an answer to the bench points of Ohio State...
Ok.. that's better... I think it will be the better of all the thurs/ fri games.... Fun to watch... It will ultimately come down to who will impose their will on the other...
AZ is a beast on the boards and can get enough scoring from the full rotation... The deciding factor is not going to be the buckeye defense but the AZ defensive effort... Like Beerman said, Thomas will get his as long as it is not 30...
If the Cats defend like they are capable of...Especially defending the 3, like they did early in the year, they should win... If not then all bets are off...
Regardless of outcome at least one poster calls for Miller being fired.

That's okay I just don't think Ohio St can score outside of Thomas can't rebound and are severely underestimating a team that could beat Miami Florida and is now running on all cylinders. If Arizona can have 12 or fewer turnovers and have the rebounding advantage Iowa St had the game is not close. But to be nice to you when we do win ESPN will still probably pick Witchita St go figure. Good luck though and I will have tissues at the buses waiting.
OSU bench ppg = 17.5
OSU total ppg = 71
Arizona bench ppg = 20.0
Arizona total ppg = 74
yea.... you got us there......
Just throwing this out there..... I expect the crowd to be at least 80-20 in favor of the Wildcat faithful. I would consider this a home game for Arizona. While it is no mckale, it will serve as a home away from home for the Wildcats. That being said, out of Ohio State's 7 losses, 5 of them have come on the road.......

Ohio State- 74
Could go either way. I think this will be a good one. Both teams are a "tough out" and the winner will be favored against LaSalle - Wichita St. winner.
I must admit that Arizona has been one of the most impressive teams in the first couple rounds. Your team appears to be peaking at the right time and you will have a home court advantage.
If Ohio State is going to win it, we will need to exert perimeter pressure with Craft and Scott (our other point guard) and force turnovers. We will also need to do a much better job of guarding the 3-point line than we did against Iona. Our big men (Williams and Ravenel) are going to have to play better to match Arizona's strong frontcourt players.
Ummm perhaps you meant to reverse the teams. AZ has as good a bench as you do..if not better.
4 solid days of hype. 48 other teams that are doing something else. A game that promises to be a good team that plays hard against a good team that plays hard. I don't doubt that a big group from Ohio State went to Disneyland today and there will be a bunch of them there tomorrow.
I love the honor of having gone to a school that can provide this kind of moment and that I can share this moment with 41 years of classes that have come and gone since I left. Bear Down all of you. It will be a great day.
As strange as it sounds, I'm not sure I'd want to be the team up 5 points going into the final two minutes. As mentioned above, both teams have proven to be tough outs all season and I wouldn't be surprised to see either Ohio State or Arizona end a game on a 8-2 type run and steal victory from defeat.
Good luck to both squads and their fans. This is definitely one of the top Sweet 16 matchups this weekend.

Interesting perspective about the last two minutes, but I can definitely see where you are coming from with that. This game has that a back and forth or seesaw type of feel to it, which often means the team with the best spurt at the end wins it. It may all come down to execution in the clutch.
to Arizona fans--this is not an easy Buckeye team to beat....some of your boards are chomping at the bit sayin "we are small"...we beat Michigan State twice in 2 weeks once before the tournment, and once in the tournment....they are probably one of the best rebounding teams in the country with Payne and Nix....we went into Assembly Hall at Indiana on their Senior night a month ago and beat them by 9 points.....we have held teams in 9 of our last 10 wins in a rew under 60 points and several under 50 or less....Wisconsin got 43 on us as we won the B10 torunment.....our early losses to Duke and Kansas were laced wiht bad officiating that put key players of our on the bench early in foul trouble...the loss AT Duke came in the last 4 minutes,,,,,,,the tandem of Craft and Scott is a concept used in the 10 win streak and is very disruptive.....they can turn over any offense and mess up your offense in a heartbeat......I expect a good close game...but as old Abe Linclon said.."the hen cackles AFTER she has laid the egg!"
Agreed, all due respect to Arizona. IU with Zellar (top 5 big man) and MSU both have better big men then Arizona. We have three wins combined vs these teams.
To Jimmie and Alpha
One of our teams will play next on Saturday and the other will play next in November with different players.
We can speculate all we want, but I think this game is the key to a successful tournament for each of them. I'm glad the support for each team is so strong. To discuss what happened in prior games means remembering what we did well and not when we didn't.
Here's to an edge of your seat game.
You might have beaten two teams that by Saturday won't be in the tournament but we have beaten two of the best teams in basketball what is your bets win outside of the Big 10 Iowa St with the help of the officials. Congratulations.
