Belmont I felt we were a 75-25 to win.
harvard I felt was bette at 80-20
OHIO STATE...right now I feel it is 50-50
Unless you listen to Osama...the we are 10-90
I don't think of it as percentages as much as margin for error in our play. Face it, we could have played much worse and still won those last two games. Against OSU, we are going to have to play at a high level.
Motivation for both teams is the game after.... A 9, 12 or 13 seed will stand between the winner of this game and the final four! In strange, motivating way this is one time that looking ahead to the next game might actually be a good thing for the team!!
"Arizona has no tradition" - Bill Walsh
"We have a tradition of kicking Bill Walsh's ass" - Teddy Bruschi
I think this game is a toss up. We didn't finish the regular season as well as OSU did, but then OSU lost a game to virtually every team in the Big 10 that made the tournament plus Kansas. They had 7 losses. All 7 made the tournament. We had 6 losses. All of those teams made the tournament as well. The big ten still has more teams going, but they all got favorable seeds. Of the 4 that are in, all were 4 seeds or better. We are still a 6 and a 12. They still have Minnesota and Illinois left, but at this writing Minnesota is losing and Illinois still has to beat Miami to get to the Sweet 16.
We will be just as motivated as Ohio State. Half of our team came from not too far from where the game is being played. Not only will their folks be there, but a bunch of friends as well. I will make one prediction that I am pretty sure of. There will be mostly red shirts in the stands and those red shirts will mostly say UA. The few that show up from Ohio wearing red can be forgiven. They just don't know better.
Maybe basketball is different but Ohio State is the #1 traveling team when it comes to football. Someone posted several years ago about the fact that Ohio State in a bowl game will draw more fans than any other school, including Notre Dame. They damn near over ran Arizona when they played and early season game in Tucson, that was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen - no opposing team has ever had a presence like that at Az stadium.
But LA is home, PAC12 territory and I agree we will have a huge number of fans there.
After they beat Iowa State, I think those fans are buying tickets to Atlanta. I don't think they think much of us.
I like our chances here. If we play as hard as we did against either of the two teams and don't let off on the throttle, we are much deeper as a team. I think we can defend them. They are good on defense and they will have a good man on Lyons. Its Johnson's turn.
Weird thinking that Miller is coaching against his old boss
The second largest OSU alumni base is in southern Cal with close to 300,000 alumni. There will be massive Buckeyes there.
We will be louder...especially if we are ahead
AZ + 4 ?? Where did that come from. The mighty and better BIG 12 should be a favorite over AZ, especially since we are from the lowly PAC-12 and finished 4th n the lowly conference.
Shit..I'm already nervous.

May the PRODIGAL SON rise to the occasion and show his ex master how it is done.
If OSU fans are buying tickets to Atlanta that doesn't mean Matta or the team are. They are very focused on your wildcats. I think this is the best game of the round. Hopefully my buckeyes play well and we get the victory but if we lose i won't hold any grudge against Arizona or it's fanbase. OSU actually tried to recruit several of the same players you have. Good luck thursday .
Fair post... good luck to you guys too... It is tough to hate on Matta... So we will settle it on the court...
BEAR DOWN boys... The best is yet to come....
What's zona's tourney experience with this current group? I think one thing that is overlooked is not letting event get bigger than it is for these kids, 4th year in a row in the sweet 16 I think will help my Bucks, the good news for us is Matta does not take Arizona lightly, as he said best team on the west coast, that includes the Zags! Lol. Good luck this game, I have seen Arizona play about 6 times this year and I think this will be a fun match up!
Solomon - Elite 8 in 2011
Parrom - Elite 8 in 2011
Jordin Mayes - Elite 8 in 2011
Lyons - Two Sweet 16's at Xavier
That's a good core. The rest are newbies.
Arizona is not much deeper than OSU....OSU has a deep bench with a ton of talent coming off it...should be a great game

Arizona's 9th and 10th guys are 4 stars and rarely play. That is depth. Thomas is by far the biggest concern for Arizona. I'm not sure if Arizona has an answer for him but if he has an off night OSU is done. Arizona is far more balanced.
You guys are more balanced but your primary scorer is a guard and our strength is the ability to make other guards work for everything they get if not take them out of their game completely. Will be a challenge but if we can keep them from going off i like my buckeyes chances.
Watching the game unless Ohio St goes lights out they don't have a chance in this game. They were out rebounded by a small team. They have a good none offensive point guard and one offensive power forward and that is about it. We have several players that can score and we are very strong defensively with Hill Johnson and Mayes. We are extremely good rebounders so if this game is under 15 point win for U of A I would be shocked. Big 10 did not beat anybody good Zona has better none conferencewins than there entire conference. Big Ten US extremely over rated.
And our primary score are point guard two forward shooting guard and out center is scoring in double digits. We also have two or three bench guys that can score in the teens.
Darkhand.....good points, but please edit your posts. Thanks.
You really dont watch very much basketball if you think this is a blowout game, seriously take off your homer glasses and be real! yes the BIG is very overated, 4 teams in the sweet 16, what a crappy conference, seriously! That's almost as dumb as me saying who's going to bring the ball up against Craft because they have no shot, that will be turnover central, what is going to happen when we go small and have Craft and Scott our there? how many TO's will we generate then! Show a little intelligence, OSU was ranked higher, won there conference tourney, and got a better seed than you and you act like if you don't win by 15 plus it would be shocking, really! c'mon man.
I'm a Buckeye homer and I think my team is going to win, but I have seen Arizona play a lot this year and I have nothing but respect for there team and there coach, do I think the Bucks will win......yes, do I think it's going to be a blowout, HELL NO!! I predict another game going down to the last minute, i hope i'm right just cause the game is more fun that way than yours...... :) Good luck to you Wildcat fans
Vegas has AZ at + 3 1/2 ...4. I thought i t would be OS as the +
Lets start with the Big Ten's best wins were Georgetown and NCSt neither of which really seem that great right now. Ohio St's best win is Washington so no your conference is not that good Arizona Florida, Miami, and San Diego St are better than what your conference has easy winner of the SEC and ACC. Second you were out rebounded by a short Iowa St team so unless your team hits everything you are not getting any second chance points. When you talk about bringing in a small lineup ok we throw it inside and dunk on you until you stop it. Sorry your team is ill equipped for this game have one offensive option and can't rebound you are Harvard and you don't know it. You might have four teams right now but after Friday you will be lucky to have one in Indiana because they are matched against a pretty average team.
And sorry about the editting I am working off a cell phone inbetween prescriptions. So I get pulled away often.
Zip take the points if they are going to give em ...
You're focusing way too much on the Iowa State game. Iowa State shoots the most threes in the country so the rebounds are a lot long, and easier to generate offensive rebounds. Also it was really only the first half where they killed us on the glass. Thad adjusted and the rebounds were even in the second half.
Think what you want about the Big Ten. I'm positive you're in the minority, but you can see for yourself. You're acting like you have the resume of a one seed, but you went 5-5 in your final ten games before the tournament whereas OSU went 9-1 entering the tournament. Just cause you got to blow out two cheese teams doesn't mean you'll blow out OSU. I think it'll be a great game, and the key is going to be who is playing better between Lyons and Deshaun Thomas.
