Who do you have above them if anyone?
They SHOULD be ranked #1 but they will start behind UK and be ranked #2. This will last all of 2 weeks before UK loses to someone they shouldn't and we move into the #1 spot for the remainder of the year.
Top ten. The rest of the country will see a great group of youngsters and the loss of Lyons, Hill, and Parrom.
Somewhere between 7-10. Lots of teams are like Arizona, losing seniors but re-loading with legitimate talent. A perfect example is Florida. Like Arizona, the Gators are losing four seniors (I think), but get two McDonald's All-Americans.
Teams like Kentucky, Duke, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Ohio State, Florida and Arizona have loaded rosters next year.

This is why I always thought we had a better chance of getting to the final four this year because next we will be loaded but so will a lot of teams. I expect us to dominate the PAC 12 next year and get at least 2/3 seed but I am not going to declare the season a failure if we go out in the sweet 16 or elite 8. Just going to enjoy the ride, knowing we will be right back in the thick of it the following year as well. We are officially back as a program and now the randomness of the tournament each year is what will drive us nuts, but that is the problem that all top programs have. Look at Kansas and Indiana this year.
Liver, I guess we need to get the suicide hotline up and running for March 2014... All is right with the world again....
BEAR DOWN boys... The best is yet to come....
Well said. I know Miller and his staff want an outright conference championship badly. Let's start there.
going to be impossible if Rush is still employed...sorry couldn't help myself
Amen. Early season rankings don't do a thing for me, but if we take care of business, refuse to go flat for stretches of the second half, and play defense, we will win a conference crown, and go deep in the dance.
I'm fine with being in the top 25 and working our way up.
I feel they will be in the top 10 start of the season. I am just hoping they will be good enough to hold that position.
I would guess top-5, closer to five than one. UK will be one.

I think number 5 sounds about right. Depends on how much the press eats up the hype of Gordon in my opinion. It seems that they already have taken to him quite favorably, so we could see the 'Cats in the top 3 wen it's all said and done.
In case you haven't researched it...Louisville has one Senior....and I place them at number one...no matter what happens in the Finals this week. AZ should be Top 10 team without a doubt.
Id go for 5
Someone else Mich maybe
Top 5, possible top 3. Depends on what else happens with other teams and recruits though.
Time to nut up or shut up
5-10 for me. We are losing too much scoring so I'll need to see who replaces it. Also need a go-to guy to show himself.
Depends on how many underclassmen for various schools jump.
Not really caring what our pre-season rank is, as long as when I file the last extension on April 15th we are number 1 the rest of the year is meaningless.

Yea, that road needs to go through Tucson again. IMO, we don't have to win it every year, but we need to be ahead of the PAC and one of the favorites every year to officially be 'back'.
Assuming Oregon does not land some other Iranian kid that eats McDonald's AA's for lunch... we should be in good shape.
If Crabbe doesn't turn pro look out for Cal to be a contender. The Bears would return their starting five plus get a McDonald's All-American in Jabari Bird added to the roster. Regardless, Arizona does need to be contending each and every year, and definitely can't be dropping 6 conference games next season even though the league will likely be even better than it was this season. Arizona should be better too IMO.
I just read that Crabbe is going pro, no question.
As far as preseason goes I'm also one who doesn't care much. It sure does look like there will be a lot of talented teams next season. I like the idea of start by winning the Pac-12. That would give us a big advantage just like this year where will play in the NCAA close to home. If we can go through the San Diego pod and Anaheim regional we should have a good shot at a Final Four. And with Rush out of the way now we also shouldn't have any bias officiating hurting us. Things are setting up really nice.
Good post. Thanks for the Crabbe update. Last time I checked yesterday he had declared for the draft but had yet to hire an agent.
As we have seen for many years pre season rankings matter little.
Arizona a monster team at the end of the year, and in my opinion, a better team at year's end.
