Game Snapshot: Arizona 78-74

Arizona pulled out a great win at California Thursday by upending the Bears 78-74 in Haas Pavilion. Kyle Fogg hit the game-winning trey and UA's defense held down the stretch.

  • GREAT game! Nick's block at the end deserves some mention as well to preserve that lead. Had Cal made that attempted layup, they most likely would've fouled AZ sending them to the [dreadful] stripe. Not too sure how comfortable I would've been in that situation so lets just say I'm glad Nick blocked that shot if only because AZ wasn't pressured as much to knock down the 2 shots. Chol and Fogg won the game for us last night.

  • Kyle Fogg was clutch! Holy cow! Great to see Chol play like he did. I absolutely agree that the Stanford game is a must win.

  • Mr. Clutch came through for us once again! He's a senior playing like a senior. Its fun to watch!

Let's hope to see more of the "Cal Fogg" as opposed to the "UW" or "Colorado Fogg". Boy was he clutch last night. We need him to maintain that effort and production for the rest of his UofA career.

No doubt. You guys all know basketball so you'll know what I'm saying here. In the second half Cal was awesome in denying Fogg the basketball. However, when the going got tough Fogg started "searching" out shot opportunities and man did he deliver on the occasions when he got a solid look at the basket.

Fogg's made baskets were fantastic, but his ability to beat his opponent to "his" spots on the floor last night because he wanted to be the guy shooting the ball was really impressive.

  • Where was this offense all year long? We looked to drive and dish and attack the basket. I haven't seen this since the Florida game. Is it because we were so superior to Cal athletically? I don't understand why the last 4 weeks, we've been happy running our offense above the 3 point line and waiting (praying) for something to happen and then settling for a long jumper. It was refreshing and hopefully a sign of things to come.
