Meet the Andersons, a rare father and son duo blessed with the same opportunity to play college basketball for hall of fame coach Lute Olson.

Tremendous article Gary, thank you. Like was said before this is how Lute's legacy will no doubt be remembered. While the last four years of his reign met with a variety of chaos, we watched someone take the programs and turn it from a respectable name under Coach Snowden to a national powerhouse.

I am looking forward to Coach Miller's team this year. I think we have fantastic building blocks to accomplish quite a bit with the nucleus we have in place.

Having said that, if note for Coach O it is highly unlikely we would be in the position we are with the basketball team. I personally got to watch Lute coach many games live. He also used to keep the practices open in the early years and this gave me the ability to watch things like Sean Elliot's first practice under his command.

One other thing that stands out in my mind as a coach about Coach O was his organization. He ran his team with a business like precision including practices and games.

His legacy will be the thing of giants as time moves on.

  • My high school coach was the same way. . . coached us well in practice so he didn't have to in the games. Coach K is similar as well. If you watch him on the bench during the majority of the game, he is expecting his players to be in the right position and make the right plays. Of course, he is not completely complacent during the game, you will see him yelling at the refs.

  • I was there when they had the trash cans for the weak at heart. This article is what Coach "O" was all about. And his dear wife was one of a kind that kept some of those players grounded.
