Strength and Conditioning article

  • This was an interesting read. Of course everyone knows you have to put in the times for these things, but the system Miller and company have in place clearly works.

  • Saw AC part deux recently and he looks like a 6' 9" Linebacker. Totally ripped and huge. Legs have gone from toothpicks to straws.

  • As a basketball junkies, stories like this are wonderful. I can't remember which outlet was reporting that Solomon Hill was 205 pounds now, but that's obviously incorrect. My guess is he looks 205 based on his physique and dropped body fat, but probably still weighs about 220 with lean muscle.

I will say that this is the importance of high school kids stressing more on pilates, yoga and dynamic stretching as their bodies are growing, rather than weights. If so, you elongate the muscles and better prepare them to accept such a rigorous weight program like Arizona's when the body is a bit more mature.

Weights are great , as you said, but it needs to be balanced with ...well BALANCE...I remember I wanted to take DON'T LAUGH... Ballet when I was in HS cause I could see where these guys could really move well. It would have helped in my hurdles...but what guy was going to go to ballet school in 1960 unless you were.....
All we had was weights and a coach that didn't have a clue how to develop a person.

Zip -- great that you can come out of the closet after all these years.

Just because you took ballet in 1960 may mean nothing. Don't worry about it. No judgment.
