Womens Basketball.... A few observations

  • None actually, I dont watch it. but did I see correctly that there was an NIT for Women? how low does that go. Also, I really think they need to do ahormone check on that girl from Baylor that can dunk. kinda like that one the ran the 800 meters that looked, acted and sounded like a man. And this last thing I know this is really low...but I wonder if Davis is so good because his looks scare the hell outtaya. Talk about unibrow.

  • THe women's NIT used to be held in one location, now it is held on various campuses of the highest seeds. The UA women won it in the mid 90's, when all games were held in Lubbock, TX.

  • I admire women playing basketball... everyone should. They probably listen to their coaches better and they are fundamentally solid and all of that.... but watching women play basketball, even great women basketball players, is like watching Elmer Fud recite Shakespeare.

The fact that it has been shoved down our throats to satisfy some masochist's politically correct notions is total B.S. The WNBA has bled cash since day 1, no one goes to those games and they could not exist without the NBA... which last time I checked was a mens league. Women's college hoops has a wonderful tradition and has no doubt actually helped thousands of women attend college and better themselves but forcing schools to have a women's program (or ANY program) that again, makes no money, that no one cares about, that no one watches, that no one goes to, that no one televises, is total B.S.

Title XII? Well look... if a school has 120 male athletes who generate money (BB and FB) then just give 120 women the same scholarship and have them play intramural sports if they want to. Schools would save millions, girls would get the same experience and everyone is happy!!

Had Iris's statements not been blatantly racist, everyone would have have agreed.

  • I have been uneasy, disinterested and unsold by women's college basketball since the Nykesha Sales controversy and the appologists' pity party that metastasized afterwards.
