Softball Regionals Game 2 vs Notre Dame

  • And thats it. Hawaii goes home with two runners stranded at second.

Lets see if NDSU (my rooting team at the moment) has enough gas in the tank to take on ND this evening. They are playing really well right now.

  • Just a little side-note, but who (the hell) would think of actually registering blueleafproductions.com?

Apparently someone did. I guess we were not the first to come up with it.

  • Ashton I just saw your post. Nice research.

Here's the deal. We do a Reverse Takeover of Blueleaf to get the name. Offer them a little ownership in our new enerprise. Go find Roy Firestone because I don't think he's dead and everyone wonders what happened to him. He could be cheap. Get a little help from Geraldo who wants to know whats buried under the home plate at Hilldebrand and get running commentary from the well known Wildcat coach Craig T. Nelson.

I'm thinking of using Jennie and Taryne to sell advertising.

It would probably go bankrupt, but I'm sure the memory would be long remembered on Google and Wikipedia. Best of all, our friend Blueleaf, who went to all the trouble of the running commentary in the first place would get his 15 minutes of fame.

  • Don't look at me Ashton. I did not register that domain. I swear.

    ASPN? That was too funny.

So UCLA ends up being the only seeded team to go down, although Cal could still bow out tonight even if that is unlikely.

Still... Texas, Florida, Texas A&M, Tenn, and Cal (provided they win tonight still) will still need to win 2 tomorrow to get to Super Regionals, so tomorrow could be an interesting day.

    Go Bison!!!

  • I can't believe Cal bowed out (see edit). After a good first day for the Pac-12, we are not looking so good right now as a conference.

Bisons look like they might be running out of gas with ND up by one - bottom of the second. I still can't believe the entire car window shattered on that homerun earlier. Real confidence booster there for automobile safety.

rdotrbennett, I occasionally dabble in the domain buying game. Never made a dime. I currently own thezonazoo.com, which I've been redirecting to Arizona Athletics zonazoo page. I figure its my alumni donation to maintain annual costs on the domain upkeep so others can buy tickets.

I also own hackeradvocate.com. Don't ask...I won a t-shirt that proclaimed the name on the front in a network question contest...presumably against hackers? I have no idea what to do with that one...lol.

As I write this, NDSU went up one to tie the game. They are not done yet.

Edit: Cal won their second match of the night against Boston University to force a game on Sunday against Arkansas, the team that sent them to the losers bracket. Cal will need to win twice against Arkansas to move on.

  • Bison break a 1 - 1 tie at the bottom of the fifth with a two RBI double.

    3 - 1 NSDU

    Go Bison!!!

  • Notre Dame moves on.

ND came roaring back in the last two innings to make it 8-3. Bison's Krista Menke, who had to be nearing close to 300 pitches for the day against both Hawaii and Notre Dame, started to wear down in the end. Bison has made it interesting with another RBI to make it 8-4 but couldn't "shatter the glass ceiling".

Well, I just want to thank the audience of five to fifteen people that checked in from time to time. Blueleaf Productions LLC (its available as a domain) will be back tomorrow to see the LadyCats put the regional away against the Irish. Arizona will have two chances to do it, but I'm guessing we only need one.

  • Nice work guys, particularly Ashton. Bear Down!

I'll be covering an AAU basketball event tomorrow so won't be able to catch the game, or at least the game in its entirety. I'll get the updates though through tomorrow's game thread.

A whole bunch of respect for the Bison, considering they were the sacrificial lamb of the regional group. They played their hearts out, and were competitive beyond what they probably should have been.

I'm starting tomorrows Regional Final thread right now. Let's do this.

    Bear Down!
